End Of Year Celebration

We were invited to attend the End of Year Celebration in Laina's classroom. The class sang a few songs to all the parents and then we celebrated with some goodies. What a great year Laina has had in Room 2. We will miss all her friends and her wonderful teacher. We could not have asked for a better Kindergarten experience for Laina.

Relay

It was a soggy day but we braved the rain and participated in our local Relay for Life. We relayed in memory of our friend Ellie and in honor of Auntie Di and Grammy and everyone else who has been affected by cancer. It was a wonderful event. Laina relayed for a while with us and then Daddy came and picked her up to get her out of the cold rain. Di and I stayed and walked in the Survivor lap which was really great.

A Month With Auntie Di

Auntie Di came to Maine and she's staying for a long long time!  She surprised Laina as mystery reader in her classroom. She volunteered to be a part of Field Day at school. She's attended Laina's dance recital and play!  Then she's coming back to participate in our Relay for Life event.  Auntie Di s a GREAT Auntie who is so involved in Laina's life. Laina is one lucky kiddo.

My Little Mama Bear

Laina performed in her second play today! She was Mama Bear in the play, Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  She did such a great job.  During her first play she was quiet and reserved and hard to hear. Such a difference in her second play. I'd say my little girl is getting very comfy up on stage! I loved all the costumes in this play so much and I especially loved how great the kids makeup looked.

Dance Recital 2011

Laina performed in her fourth dance recital on Saturday!  This year she took a class that had both ballet and tap so she performed in 2 different numbers. She did a wonderful job. Laina is just so comfortable out there on the stage and I am just so proud of her!!!

Field Day!

Auntie Di and I both volunteered to be a part of Field Day at Laina's school. It was so much fun spending the day outside with all the kids. It reminded me of Field Day when I was in elementary school. The kids had such a great time. Here they are at Auntie Di's station playing a game. I just love the kids in Room 2!

Mystery Reader!

What a surprise in Room 2! Auntie showed up as Mystery Reader today. Laina had NO idea she was even coming to visit! How fun!!! Auntie Di bought a now "Splat the Cat" book to read to Room 2 and then gave it to Laina to keep as part of her library.  Thanks Auntie Di!
